Pathogenesis

• infiltrative cardiomyopathy

• nl EF, nl contractility

Diagnosis

• normal: inspiration, increase venous return, JVP falls slightly

• restrictive: ventricle restricted, can't accept venous return

• venous return from SVC, fills up heart, shoots back into venous system

• PCWP: same as LA pressure, same problem

Causes

_..

• echo: thick myocardium

• right: low EKG, normally large EKG with large heart

• build up of amyloid protein: small EKG because amyloid protein does not generate electric activity

• chronically after radiation

• chronic pericardial disease

• endomyocardial layer setup for thrombus
